Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura has broken a bone in his left hand, the club's official Web site said on Monday.

The playmaker sustained the injury during Celtic's 2-1 Scottish Cup quarterfinal win away to Inverness last weekend and could be doubtful for Hoops' league fixture against Dunfermline at Parkhead on Saturday.

"I can't remember exactly when I injured it but it hurts a lot," Nakamura said after Sunday's win.

Nakamura is keen to play against Dunfermline, and Celtic is looking at the possibility of him taking part with a protective cover on the hand. The club said it will be issuing an update on the injury later in the week.
