Former Japan striker Tatsuhiko Kubo is set to leave Yokohama F. Marinos after the J. League first-division club on Sunday accepted his wish to move to a different team.

Kubo is expected to join Yokohama FC, which was crowned J-2 champion last season and will go up to play top flight soccer for the first time in the club's history, according to sources close to the matter.

The 30-year-old and Marinos were having their fifth round of contract talks this close season. Kubo scored five goals in 29 J. League matches last season.
