Japanese teenage forward Sho Ito has drawn interest from English Premier League club Arsenal, Ito and his agent said Friday.
Ito, an 18-year-old high school student in Nagoya who is training with Arsenal, said after Friday's session that he has been asked by manager Arsene Wenger to sign with the club.
"To put it simply, I felt they want me to join," Ito said, adding he wants to take more time to consider his future.
His agent said it appears difficult for Ito to obtain a work permit but the Gunners are considering asking for exceptional measures to be applied to the teenager's application.
