Yusaku Iriki picked up the win after holding the Carp to three hits over seven scoreless innings. Yukiya Yokoyama retired the side in the ninth for the save.

At Seibu Invoice Dome, Takeya Nakamura went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to power Seibu to a win over Central League-leading Hanshin.
Nakamura hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and doubled in a run in the sixth as the Lions avoided a three-game sweep.
Veteran Fumiya Nishiguchi (9-3) struck out eight and limited the damage to two runs on six hits in eight innings of work, becoming the fourth nine-game winner in the Pacific League.

At Yahoo Dome, Junji Hoshino tossed a four-hitter over six scoreless innings as Softbank blanked Yokohama.
Julio Zuleta and Munenori Kawasaki each drove in a run for Sadaharu Oh’s Hawks. Takahiro Mahara worked the final 1 1/3 innings to pick up the save.
The victory at Yahoo Dome left Softbank with a chance to finish tied with Chiba Lotte on top of the interleague standings for a share of the 50 million yen top prize money.

At Tokyo Dome, catcher Shinnosuke Abe drove in a pair of runs — both on sacrifice flies — as Yomiuri downed Tohoku Rakuten to complete a three-game sweep of the expansion team.
Giants veteran Kimiyasu Kudo picked up the win after striking out eight and holding the Eagles to one hit over seven scoreless innings.
Hisashi Iwakuma gave up two runs on nine hits over seven innings to take the loss.

At Nagoya Dome, Tyrone Woods hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to power Chunichi to a win over Orix. It was Woods’ 100th homer in Japan.
Shinya Okamoto (6-3) got the win after working 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and Hitoki Iwase got four outs without yielding a hit for his Central League-leading 18th save. Chunichi moved back into second in the CL standings.
