Michie Oba shot a 5-under-par 67 to take sole possession of the lead after the second round of the Suntory Ladies Open on Friday.

Oba, who was tied for second after the opening round at Japan Memorial Golf Club, carded six birdies against a lone bogey to move into the top spot at 8-under 136 while overnight leader and 2003 champion Lee Ji Hee of South Korea followed in second one stroke off the pace.

Lee, whose round of 69 included four birdies and a bogey, was joined by Yuriko Otsuka, who produced the day's low of 66 with six birdies.
