A newly established U.S. professional independent baseball league will feature a team made up entirely of Japanese players, people close to the league said Tuesday.

The team, the Samurai Bears, is scheduled to hold a tryout in Kyoto on Wednesday to finalize their 24-man roster before next month's inauguration of the Golden Baseball League, which will have eight teams and play games in California and Arizona.

The Samurai Bears are expected to name their manager and coaching staff from among Japanese who have experience playing professional baseball.
