Masaji Ogino, a national team member at the Barcelona Olympics, is among the 22 players named to the national team for the World League men’s volleyball tournament, the Japan Volleyball Association said Friday.
The 35-year-old Ogino will be representing Japan in an international meet for the first time in seven years when he takes part in the 12-nation round-robin tournament to be held across the world over six weekends from May 27 to July 3.
Japan is drawn in Pool A along with Brazil, Venezuela and Portugal, and will host games June 11-12 (Gifu), June 18-19 (Tokyo) and July 2-3 (Tokyo).
