OSAKA – Hanshin Tigers senior director Senichi Hoshino will undergo surgery for acute appendicitis after he was hospitalized Monday, club officials said.
Hoshino, a former manager for the Tigers, complained of pain earlier in the day and was diagnosed with the condition after being taken to the emergency room of a hospital in Hyogo Prefecture.
Hoshino will be under treatment for about week and will not attend the pro baseball amateur draft on Wednesday.
