YOKOHAMA – Sydney Olympic gold medalist Ryoko Tamura downed Kayo Kitada with a “yusei” decision in the 48-kg final to claim her 12th victory and first in two years at the women’s weight-category National Championships on Sunday.
Tamura defeated Tomoko Fukumi with an outside leg sweep for an “ippon-gachi” in the semifinal match before disposing of Kitada in the final at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium.
