British duo Flandi Limpele and Eng Hian beat Denmark’s Michael Lamp and Mathias Boe 15-5, 15-12 to win the men’s doubles while top seeds Gao Ling and Huang Sui of China downed compatriots Wei Yili and Zhao Tingting 10-13, 11-6, 11-5 in the women’s doubles final. Meanwhile, Keita Masuda was selected the 2002 badminton MVP, winning the honor for the first time since 1999, when he topped the voting by the Tokyo Sports Writers Club members.
