Taiyo Fujita earned his first career win by pitching a five-hit complete game Tuesday as the Hanshin Tigers crushed the Hiroshima Carp 10-2 at Hiroshima Stadium.

Fujita (1-3), the second-year right-hander, scattered five hits while striking out 10 batters in his eighth appearance this season. He gave up two runs on a ninth-inning, two-run dinger by Carp left fielder Tomoaki Kanemoto.

Norihiro Akahoshi went 5-for-5 and George Arias slammed a three-run homer to highlight Hanshin's seven-run seventh.

Up 2-0 in the third inning, Yoshinori Okihara belted a solo homer -- his first of the year -- into the right-field bleachers off Hiroshima starter Ken Takahashi (9-11).

In the seventh, Shinjiro Hiyama sparked a seven-hit seven-run burst with an RBI single. Arias followed with a three-run clout, his 24th homer, and the Tigers added three more runs to cap the inning on RBI singles by Katsuhiko Yamada, Makoto Imaoka and Akahoshi.

Carp hurler Takahashi was tagged with the loss, giving up seven runs on 10 hits over six-plus innings.

Takayuki Onishi smacked a single to right field off Yokohama reliever Kazuo Fukumori (2-2) to bring home the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth as Chunichi edged the BayStars at Kusanagi Stadium in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Lefty Masahiro Yamamoto (6-6) combined with closer Eddie Gaillard for a six-hitter, giving up one run on four hits over eight innings for the win.

Gaillard gave up two hits in the ninth but earned his 27th save.

In the sixth inning, the Dragons scored a run on Motonobu Tanishige's grounder to shortstop to take the lead.

In the bottom of the frame, however, Yokohama second baseman Hitoshi Taneda singled home a run to tie the game.

Kobayashi sets record

Chiba Lotte closer Masahide Kobayashi pitched a scoreless 10th inning against Kintetsu and notched a new Japanese pro baseball record 23rd consecutive "save point" as the Marines beat the Buffaloes 6-5 at the Osaka Dome.

"I want to thank my teammates for setting the stage for me today," said Kobayashi, whose record streak started May 21.

Kobayashi walked leadoff batter Tuffy Rhodes but followup Norihiro Nakamura grounded into a double play. He got the next batter out on a fly ball to right field.

With the score tied, Derrick May connected for a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 10th to give Lotte the lead.

The Marines trailed 5-3 in the top of the ninth, but pinch hitter Yukihiko Sato nailed a clutch two-run homer to send the game into extra innings.

Lotte's Brian Sikorski (3-6) pitched the ninth for the win.

Hawks 7, BlueWave 1
Daiei left fielder Yudai Deguchi smashed a grand slam for the go-ahead runs in the fifth inning as the Hawks downed Orix at Green Stadium Kobe.

Daiei added a run in the seventh on a fielding error and wrapped up the attack with a two-run clout in the ninth inning by Tadahito Iguchi.

Kenichi Wakatabe (8-7) limited the BlueWave to one unearned run on seven hits and struck out eight batters over 7 1/3 innings en route to his eighth win.
