For Chinese and Japanese travelers, Southeast Asia and particularly Thailand remain key destinations of choice.
Earlier this year, the Thai capital city of Bangkok was named the most popular destination for Japanese tourists during their Golden Week holidays. In addition, according to a survey conducted by the online booking platform Agoda, the Thai beachside city of Pattaya was ranked No. 4 and the Thai island of Phuket was ranked as the No. 10 most popular destinations for these Japanese travelers.
Bangkok also has once again been named the "most visited" city in the world, for the fourth year running, despite growing concerns about the impact of the ongoing U.S.-China trade war on economies, and travel, across the region.
