Thank you for running Richard Cory's Nov. 3 article, "Fatally flawed math of risking it all (betting a family) on Japan," which gives a voice to fathers who have had their children stolen from them. Before they had no voice. I have been in the position of advising a father to try the Family Court, while honestly telling him that it would be useless.

The comment from one reader who called these stories "trash" is both cruel and ignorant of true conditions. I could wish him the same experience but wouldn't — not for his sake but for the children, because they are the ones suffering the most. Japan's government and the Japanese courts are guilty of abusing children by cutting them off from the care of their fathers.
