Regarding the Sept. 3 editorial, "Premier case of deja vu": It is absolutely amazing that two successive prime ministers suddenly and irresponsibly resigned from their post without rhyme or reason after less than a year in office. In all probability, the next prime minister will also be in power for only a few months before dissolving the Diet to hold general elections sometime before next September. Is this a nation run by prime minister temps? It's a shame. The citizens of the No. 2 economic powerhouse deserve better. The farcical political charade being played out within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party does not bode well for the future of this country.
