I’m fed up with recent comments from the prime minister and the defense, foreign and health ministers. Their minds are full of amateur propositions; they are obviously politically inferior to the dictator of North Korea, who is about to get what he wants through nuclear brinkmanship.

How do such under-qualified people, comparable to Internet rightwingers, get Japan’s top jobs? We Japanese voters elect these people. We like the sons of famous politicians; we dislike talented persons; we prefer simple emotional propaganda; we dislike long logical arguments. We like the one-party regime, which has created a huge national debt.
