While I dislike the way the media in America feels it has to remake foreign movies rather than expose American audiences to foreign cinema directly, I appreciate that the powers that be saw fit to have someone talented remake “Infernal Affairs.” While not as good as the original, in my opinion, I felt that Scorsese did a much better job than other directors have done with movies such as “The Grudge” and “Shall We Dance?”, which I felt were utterly horrible remakes.

I recommend that anyone and everyone watch “Infernal Affairs” to get a sample of high-quality Asian cinema.
