A man arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 76-year-old woman in the city of Machida in western Tokyo told investigators he committed the act out of frustration after his mail failed to arrive and garbage was left outside his home, sources said Thursday.
Suspect Kota Kuwano, who described himself as a temporary worker, was sent to prosecutors Thursday on suspicion of murder and violating the weapon control law.
“I was overwhelmed with despair. I hated everything and decided to kill someone and end my life,” Kuwano, 40, was quoted as telling investigators.
