The 2025 World Expo in Osaka will likely see a deluge of visitors in the coming weeks, as the event reaches its finale on Oct. 13.
The expo had seen around 18.54 million visitors as of Thursday. At its current pace, it will top 22 million — which is the target to break even on operating costs — and is expected to turn a profit.
The daily average number of visitors increased to 177,000 in the week of Sep. 5 to 11 from the previous week of 153,000. On Sept. 6, the expo saw a daily record high of about 210,000 visitors.
