Japan Post Co. will release pure gold plates shaped like stamps to commemorate Ichiro Suzuki's 3,000th hit in Major League Baseball.

The gold plate will be fixed in a special holder with a photo capturing the moment the Miami Marlins outfielder reached the milestone, as well as his autograph.

The set will be sold through Japan Post's online store for ¥510,000, including delivery. Only 51 sets will be available, as a tribute to his uniform number.

The plate itself contains 16 grams of gold and is 3.86 cm long and 3.24 cm wide.

Japan Post said on Wednesday that it will begin taking orders Monday and that delivery would begin on March 11.

In August, when Suzuki collected his 3,000th hit, Japan Post began selling a "premium set" of postage stamps and postcards with photos to commemorate the star Japanese player's MLB career.
