The average cost of wedding ceremonies and receptions hit a record high in fiscal 2015 for the second straight year, according to Recruit Marketing Partners Co.
The average cost stood at ¥3.59 million in the year that ended last March 31, up ¥70,000 from the previous year, according to a survey by the publisher of bridal magazine Zexy. The survey has been conducted since 1994.
The cost per guest rose ¥3,000 to ¥62,000, while the average number of guests declined by 0.9 to 71.6.
The survey was based on answers provided by about 5,200 readers of the magazine whose wedding ceremonies or receptions took place between April 2015 and this March.
