A 2½-minute YouTube dance video created by the staff of Miyazaki Airport aims to draw more visitors to the city in Kyushu.

"I am hoping more people will become interested in Miyazaki by watching both a beautiful sky and fun dance," said Seiichi Fujimoto, deputy director of the airport operator's general affairs department.

The video was filmed on the runway and the airport's viewing deck as dawn breaks. It features some 150 employees, ranging from engineers to security guards, as well as workers for Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Solaseed Air, all dancing in their official uniforms.

Students from the Civil Aviation College, located in the city, and the prefecture's promotional mascot, Miyazaki-ken, also took part.

The song used in the video was written to promote the prefecture, known for its slogan "The sunny place of Japan."

It features phrases emphasizing Miyazaki's warm weather, including the bold but humorous line "the sun would even melt the wrinkles on your forehead."
