Twin female panda cubs born at the Adventure World amusement park in Wakayama Prefecture have been named Ohin and Tohin, the park said Friday.

The names were selected from more than 10,000 suggestions submitted by the public following their births on Dec. 2 to father Eimei, 22, and mother Rauhin, 14.

The "hin" in the two cubs' names reflects the kanji used in the second character of Shirahama — the city that hosts the park. "O" and "To" mean cherry and peach.

Each cub weighs 3 kg and measures more than 50 cm, park officials said.
