Two people were killed and five injured in an expressway accident in Miyagi Prefecture on Saturday night, police and fire department officials said.
The crash occurred on the Tohoku Expressway in Osaki at around 9:35 p.m. when a truck collided with two cars that had stopped in a lane on the highway, they said.
The two men killed in the accident were occupants of one of the two cars. The expressway was partially closed through early Sunday.
