Prosecutors have released without indictment a Vietnamese cabin attendant who was detained in March for allegedly attempting to take stolen goods to Vietnam, they said Tuesday.

Tokyo police arrested Nguyen Bich Ngoc on March 26 on suspicion of carrying stolen clothes worth ¥125,000 by bus last September from a hotel in Osaka Prefecture to Kansai International Airport at the request of a Vietnamese resident in Japan.

Nguyen, 25, an employee of Vietnam Airlines, has denied the allegations, saying she did not know the goods were stolen.

Tokyo prosecutors said their Tachikawa Branch was unable to obtain enough evidence to charge her.
