Mitsubishi Electric Corp. said Tuesday it will install 66 elevators and 19 escalators in a high-rise commercial complex being built in Wuhan, China.
The 438-meter-tall Wuhan Center is to be completed in 2016 with 88 floors above ground, including a Hyatt Regency hotel, offices and residential facilities.
Mitsubishi Electric will supply a high-speed elevator that will operate from the basement to the 86th floor and another from the basement to the 87th floor. They will move as fast as 600 meters per minute, according to the company.
Its Inazawa plant in Aichi Prefecture and joint ventures in Shanghai will manufacture the elevators and escalators, it said.
