Industrial output in April grew a seasonally adjusted 0.9 percent compared with the initially reported 1.7 percent rise, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Tuesday.

The index of output at factories and mines stood at 95.9 against 100 for the base year of 2010. To reflect changes in the nation's industrial structure, the base year for the index was shifted from 2005 and the calculation criterion revised.

Based on these amendments, production in April grew for a third straight month on the firm performances of transport equipment makers, as well as manufacturers of electronic parts and equipment.
