A Japanese man hospitalized following Tuesday's knife and vehicle attack in Guam has died, raising the death toll to three, the Foreign Ministry confirmed Thursday.

The victim, identified as Hitoshi Yokota, 51, was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by the assailant's vehicle, the ministry said. According to hospital officials, Yokota died Thursday morning.

Besides Yokota, two Japanese women were killed and 10 other Japanese wounded by a man who randomly stabbed people with a knife after crashing his car into a convenience store Tuesday night in a major tourist area on the Pacific island, a U.S. territory, according to the ministry.
