Struggling Sharp Corp. might start slashing bonus payments this winter to reduce costs by about ¥20 billion to ¥30 billion annually, sources said.
The electronics giant announced in August that it plans to eliminate 5,000 jobs under a restructuring scheme. The bonus cut will be included in additional restructuring measures to be compiled by the end of the month, the sources said Saturday.
The company cut monthly wages this spring.
