ASAHIKAWA, HOKKAIDO – Asahikawa Medical University and four Chinese medical institutions conducted a ceremony Monday to mark the launch of a joint online telemedicine system.
The system, which makes it possible to examine patients and issue instructions for surgery by means of images sent via the Internet, is expected to help correct medical-care disparities between urban and rural areas in China, according to officials of the school in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.
