Yuya Uchida, a famous 71-year-old rock singer, was arrested Friday on suspicion of trespassing and attempting to extort a 50-year-old former girlfriend, police said.

According to the police, Uchida left a letter for the woman April 2 alleging that he had told her company that she was dating a yakuza.

Uchida also had a locksmith open the front door of her home and entered it April 19 without informing her, the police alleged.

The woman, whose name is being withheld, contacted the police for help in March, claiming she was trying to break up with Uchida but that he wouldn't let her go. Uchida reportedly started dating her around December 2009.
