The Tokyo International Anime Fair, scheduled for later this month, has been canceled due to the Tohoku earthquake crisis, organizers said Wednesday.
This year's fair, run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, was a source of controversy when a number of exhibitors decided not to take part in protest over new regulations on manga and animated films.
The organizers cited unstable transportation services for participants led by uncertainties in the electricity supply.
