The head of restaurant chain operator Watami Co., Miki Watanabe, is mulling running in the Tokyo gubernatorial race scheduled for April and has asked for support from people related to Your Party, according to party sources.
If the party agrees with his platform, the 51-year-old chairman of Watami could run with its backing. Should this happen, Watanabe can become a high-profile candidate, considering his fame.
