Ricoh Co. and Microsoft Co. said Tuesday they will tie up in the field of cloud computing, with Ricoh aiming to double annual sales of Microsoft products in Japan to about ¥20 billion within the next three years.

The Ricoh group, which has been marketing Microsoft products to a wide range of customers, will further expand ties to cut costs and reduce time to introduce products through cloud computing by combining Microsoft's technology and Ricoh's sales network, they said.

Under the tieup, Microsoft will train 11,700 sales personnel and engineers of the Ricoh group to enhance their understanding of relevant products and technology.
