LAS VEGAS (Kyodo) Toshiba Corp. says its 3-D liquid crystal display TVs that don't require dedicated glasses will be marketed outside Japan in the upcoming business year.

The special TVs 40 inches or bigger will first hit the North American market before moving on to Europe and emerging economies, the electronics maker said.

The company will showcase its 56- and 65-inch models at the Consumer Electronics Show that starts Thursday in Las Vegas.

Toshiba began selling its 12- and 20-inch glasses-free 3-D TVs under the 3D Regza GL1 brand in Japan in December.

The company said it hopes to sell 20 million TVs of any kind worldwide in fiscal 2011 and aims to raise its share in the North American market to 10 percent from the current 7 to 8 percent.
