Mitsuoka Motor Co. will start assembling the Himiko convertible, reminiscent of a classic car in the 1930s, and the Galue sedan in Thailand in September, according to company officials.

Mitsuoka will market the vehicles not only in Thailand but in other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations including Singapore and Malaysia, where they will be entitled to preferential tariff treatments for products made in the zone, the officials said.

Toyama-based Mitsuoka plans to set up a joint venture with a Thai firm with the venture's workforce totaling 10 to 15, they said. Monthly production will be limited to one to five vehicles.
