OSAKA (Kyodo) Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corp. said Wednesday it will carry out executive pay cuts starting this month of 10 percent to 50 percent for board members and executive officers to atone for the company's fabrication of product data.
The biggest cuts will apply to President Michihiro Tsuchiya and Executive Vice President Kunihiko Shimojuku.
The action will be in force "for the time being," the company said.
The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry ordered Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma on April 13 to suspend some of its pharmaceutical manufacturing and sales operations for 25 days over the alleged falsification of blood product test data.
