A man dressed in camouflage and carrying what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail was arrested early Friday in front of the home of ruling Democratic Party of Japan Secretary General Ichiro Ozawa in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward, police said.

The man, who identified himself as Tokyo rightist group member Hiroyuki Tsukui, 40, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police after he allegedly dashed at a riot officer at around 3:10 a.m., according to the police.

Also carrying a Hinomaru national flag, the man threatened to hurl the bottle, and attempted to set fire to the tissues stuffed in the bottle with a cigarette lighter, according to the police.

The bottle fell to the ground and shattered but nobody was injured in the incident, the police said.

The suspect told police that the bottle contained water and no trace of gasoline was detected, according to the police.
