Two men were arrested Monday on suspicion of making 28,000 bogus hotel reservations on an online travel site to earn points that can be exchanged for merchandise, Tokyo police said.

Ken Muranaka, 28, and his accomplice, who wasn’t named, allegedly conspired to steal the points, which total about 1 percent of the price of the hotel rooms reserved, over several months starting in February.
