KYOTO (Kyodo) An Osaka man was arrested Monday for allegedly sharing a movie online that apparently had been recorded illegally in a theater.

The suspect, Yoshitaka Miyatake, 37, of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, is the first person arrested for allegedly distributing a movie secretly taken at a theater in Japan, according to the Japan Video Software Association.

Miyatake is suspected of violating the copyright law by using Share, a file-sharing computer application, to distribute the film "Crows Zero II" to unidentified, multiple users from May 15 to 21 while it was still in theaters, the Kyoto Prefectural Police said.

The Kyoto force's special investigation team on Internet crime said the film was likely recorded with a digital camcorder in a theater in Aichi Prefecture, judging from the copyright information and the quality of the reproduction.
