SYDNEY (Kyodo) The search for an Australian man who has been missing from a ski resort in Hokkaido for more than a week has been suspended, Australian media reported Saturday.

Dozens of police and volunteers have been searching for the missing Brisbane man at the Niseko ski resort in western Hokkaido. His father came over to help with the search but has reportedly since returned.

Scott McKay, 27, disappeared after leaving Wild Bill's Bar at about 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 to walk the short distance to his accommodation. His two friends left the same bar about 15 minutes later, but when they arrived at the accommodation, he was not there, the Australian Associated Press reported.
