The Oscar-nominated film “Okuribito” (“Departures”) swept 10 categories in the 32nd Japan Academy Prizes on Friday, including awards for best film, best director and best leading actor.
“Okuribito,” which also won the grand prize at the Montreal World Film Festival last summer, depicts the dignity of life and death through the eyes of its protagonist, who makes a living placing bodies into coffins.
