Police on Sunday again searched a Tokyo company in charge of maintenance of a Swiss-made elevator in which a teenager was killed in an accident in 2006.

The police suspect the accident was the result of a worker at SEC Elevator Co. overlooking an abnormality involving the elevator's brake system during an inspection, investigative sources said.

Hirosuke Ichikawa, a 16-year-old high school student, was killed when the elevator in an apartment building in Minato Ward, Tokyo, suddenly started going up as he was getting out.

He was crushed between the elevator's floor and the frame of the building.
