Struggling electronics maker Sanyo Electric Co. is in final talks to sell its cellular phone production division to Kyocera Corp., informed sources said Friday.
The deal would be the first sale of a cell phone production operation between Japanese companies and is likely to trigger an industrywide realignment as competition eats into profitability.
