Convenience store chain FamilyMart Co. and Culture Convenience Club Co., which operates Tsutaya rental video shops, will link their point cards, sources said Wednesday.

The two firms will allow card holders to use points accumulated by buying merchandise or renting videos and CDs at each other's shops, possibly starting in November, the sources said. Customers can redeem the accumulated points for credit when making purchases.

FamilyMart will replace its Famima Card with the Famima T Card for use in both stores, the sources said.

Culture Convenience, which previously linked its card services with Lawson Inc., has been searching for a new partner since Lawson did not renew the card deal, they added.
