NEW DELHI (Kyodo) Suzuki Motor Corp. Chairman Osamu Suzuki said Thursday his company is planning to build a new plant in India with Nissan Motor Co.
He told a news conference that details had not been hammered out yet but that the plant would have a production capacity of 250,000 units. He said Nissan would shoulder the necessary costs of 25 billion rupees (63 billion yen).
Suzuki also said another factory is being built in Manesar, Haryana State, that will receive a total investment of 50 billion rupees (126 billion yen) by 2010 to assemble motor vehicles and serve as a foothold for Europe-bound exports.
