Lavatory equipment maker Toto Ltd. is ready to launch the industry’s first odor-decomposing wall material Aug. 10.

The material can absorb lavatory odor for photo-catalytic decomposition, according to Toto.

The company said tests confirm the material can reduce residual ammonia to one-16th of the original amount.

The odor-decomposing wall costs 210,000 yen for a one-mat lavatory and is available in white, beige and pink.

Toto expects annual sales of 50 million yen in three years.
