There has been a significant decrease in the number of illegally parked cars since private parking wardens started patrolling city streets last month, according to the National Police Agency.
Between the parking wardens and police, 154,125 illegally parked vehicles were reported for the month of June, or about 5,140 per day, down 520 a day from the previous year, according to the NPA.
Commissioned by 270 police stations in 102 municipalities nationwide, the private parking wardens wrote 48,681 tickets, nearly one-third of the total number handed out, according to the agency.
