East Japan Railway Co. unveiled a test version Wednesday of the Fastech 360 Z next-generation bullet train in Rifu, Miyagi Prefecture.
JR East has been testing its Fastech 360 S on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line since June. It has developed the smaller Z model for use on the so-called minishinkansen lines in Akita and Yamagata prefectures, where bullet trains run on modified tracks built for regular trains.
