WASHINGTON (Kyodo) U.S. House of Representatives Delegate Madeleine Bordallo from Guam urged Japan on Friday to fund 75 percent of the cost of relocating U.S. Marines from Okinawa to Guam, calling it a “necessity” amid the tight U.S. budget.

In a statement, Bordallo also said she understands that the actual number of marines to be relocated will be closer to 8,000, instead of 7,000 earlier agreed to by the two nations.
