NAHA, Okinawa Pref. (Kyodo) Police turned over to prosecutors Monday their case against two U.S. Navy servicemen who were allegedly involved in a taxi holdup within Camp Zukeran, Okinawa, in January.

Police said Henry Morgan, 20, and Reginald Lowery Jr., 21, are suspected of taking 5,000 yen and $5 from the 61-year-old cabby they called in the early morning of Jan. 7, after threatening him with a knife.

An alleged accomplice has already returned to the United States.

The two have confessed to the holdup, police said.

They decided not to request arrest warrants for the two men, as the U.S. Navy said it will hand them over to the Japanese side if prosecutors indict them.

U.S. investigators arrested the two on Jan. 27 and Okinawa police have been questioning them in cooperation with the U.S. side.
